Job Description

‘Light up Denbighshire’

North Wales Seasonal Landmark Illuminations

We were delighted to be approached by Denbighshire County Council to provide illumination in 8 Locations throughout the county.  Sites of local significance or historical and architectural prominence were selected to provide a much-deserved lift to the community during the Christmas period of 2020.

The illuminated landmarks were in addition to the scheduled seasonal Christmas illuminations provided by the council, and were intended to provide a safe alternative to local centres where annual community events and seasonal attractions were necessarily unable to take place in light of COVID-19 social distancing measures.

The illuminated landmarks added extra magic to local communities across Denbighshire encouraging residents to stay local and shop local whilst safely enjoying their heritage and local landmarks, beautifully illuminated in deep jewel like colours.

The month long #lovelivelocal event was a huge success with residents sharing their images and pleasure of their own home town’s illuminated landmarks.

It was a privilege to be asked to deliver full production of this fantastic event in towns across beautiful North Wales.

Hire lighting equipment primarily consisted of Showtec Helix S5000 Q4 LED floods and Chauvet Ovation 910FC IP profiles, as well as some Vari-Lite VL10 Beamwash and Elation Fuze Profile units which were kept safe under solid perspex domes.  The majority of sites were controlled using Enttec DMXStreamers, programmed and left to run for the 5-week duration.

Thorough production management planning and the selection of robust, weatherproof solutions meant that there were no technical call outs required for the entire run.  This, alongside our own CCTV and other security measures, made for a stress free and successful run.

Locations and Structures illuminated include:

  • Prestatyn, Parish Church and Chapels on the High Street
  • Rhyl, Town Hall.
  • Llangollen, Main town bridge and Square
  • Corwen, The Square and Parish Church
  • Ruthin, St Peter’s Church and Square
  • St Asaph, Cathedral
  • Rhuddlan Castle
  • Denbigh Castle
