Lighting of Bath's Historic Buildings - Friday 28th May

On Friday 28th May, the City of Bath will see a number of Bath's historic buildings lit like never before.

Enlightened Lighting has been commissioned by Bath & North East Somerset Councils Property Services Department to provide stunning effects and illuminations on Bath Abbey, Guildhall Frontage Orange Grove, Pultney Bridge, Weir & Colonnades, all in support to the Wylde Party in the City

Simon Marcus of Enlightened Lighting commented;
“This is a rare opportunity and is going to be a memorable night for Bath.
The beauty of LED light is that not only does the minimal running cost vastly reduce the carbon footprint compared to conventional lighting but also it gives incredible scope in lighting the fantastic architecture.”

So if you are out and about in Bath City on Friday 28th, take a second look at some of the key buildings of Bath. Feel free to take photos too and email them to us afterwards – there will be a 'prize' for the best photo...

Enlightened Lighting Ltd is delivering this exciting display in support of ongoing feasibility work looking at reducing current energy usage for external illuminations. This one of display is the showcase for this work.

The project is managed jointly by Miles Barnes and Bob Hotham from Property Services (Building Consultancy) who are working on the technical and logistical issues of delivering such a project.

“This is an exciting project full of opportunities for Bath, because not only does this work showcase the special architectural features of these buildings but also addresses the need to reduce our carbon foot print whilst making central Bath more visually attractive in the evenings for visitors and residents.”
