Enlightened is proud to support Unseen; a Bristol based charity that works towards a world without slavery. It’s our third year supporting this worthy and important event, which helps raise awareness of the reality and devastating impact of modern slavery in our own city.

Unseen supports survivors of slavery, as well as working in the community and with businesses to tackle slavery at the root cause.  By supporting survivors and vulnerable people through specialist services, they can enable victims of slavery to recover safely and develop resilient, independent lives.  By equipping business leaders and individuals through the provision of training, advice and resources, Unseen can better identify and support actual and potential victims of slavery, and ny influencing society, Unseen uses their practical experience, research and survivor stories to inspire change in legislation, policy, and consumer choices.

Enlightened supplied equipment to light up St Mary Redcliffe Church in Bristol in eye-catching bright colours. Led by former Enlightened employee Adam King, the project illuminated the Grade 1 listed Gothic building and its 292ft spire; the tallest building in Bristol. Some of Enlightened's extensive stock of festoon and outdoor floods were utilised, and punchy SGM P5 LED washlights delivered bold colours to the spire, tower and clock face. A Robert Juliat Buxie followspot highlighted the tip of the spire in a brilliant white, ensuring that the church was visible for miles around.

Of this years installation Adam King said:
“The lighting was a great success with lots of engagement and positive comments, especially at this time when Bristol's role in historic slavery is in the news, and making an impact on the skyline too!”

Enlightened also sponsored the Unseen night walk, which took place in October, supplying PA and additional lighting to illuminate the neon-clad walkers through Leigh Woods to finish a week of campaining and raising awareness in Bristol.

Rebecca Wingate-Saul of Unseen said:

"A huge thank you to Enlightened who, have generously supported our campaign to light up St Mary Redcliffe Church in neon lights to help highlight the fact that modern slavery is happening right here in our city of Bristol. It’s a bit of fun, but with a serious message, and we’ve already had lots of comments about how spectacular and eye-catching it is."
